    The current release of the UPC-to-C translator cannot be built natively on 
    AIX.
    
    However, if your AIX box has a working internet connection, you needn't build 
    the translator at all - just download and build the runtime component and it 
    will transparently and automatically connect to our Linux internet server to 
    perform UPC-to-C translation. See http://upc.lbl.gov for more details.
    
    The next release of the UPC-to-C translator (likely to be released in a few 
    weeks) will include native support for performing translation on PowerPC with 
    AIX and MacOS.
